Melissa Bachman American TV host, Multiple Animal Murderer is now a Canned Hunt Killer.
Melissa Bachman may be one of the very worst public examples of America’s insane Gun and Hunting culture.
How is this Sport?
I fail to see how any sane human being with even the smallest respect for life, can look at the mindless hunting of animals and see a sport.
By definition, when a sport pits two opponents against each other, both come armed with a similar arsenal of skills, both have an opportunity to win, and critically, both know that they are in a contest.
Enter Melissa Bachman, an American “Game Hunter”, and so called star of a misguided television show called Winchester Deadly Passion.
So distorted are these peoples perspectives that their website describes the manufacture of Winchester Ammunition as “more than manufacturing, it’s a lifestyle.” and have the audacity to claim on the website that they are Conservationists.
Bachman, and presumably other misguided individuals who watch her antics, have either no appreciation of the value of life, or hold so narrow a perspective as to think some brief, adrenalin rush, satisfying their own sick value systems, is somehow more valuable to the planet than the existence of a magnificent, even endangered animal.
In her defence, it would be easy to argue that man has always hunted, but hard to convince any sane human that hunting and killing animals is a life skill required by American’s today.
Despite this, Melissa Bachman has carved out a career, by entering the abode of other living creatures, armed to the teeth and engaging in a life and death game, that her unarmed opponents do not even know they are playing.
Change the location from wilderness, game reserve, etc to suburbia, change the target from a bear, lion, deer etc to a human, and Bachman would rightly be labelled a home invader and serial murder.
Bachman can be readily found online, posing with any number of magnificent creatures which she has mindlessly killed either for sport or for what she describes as “the best job in the World”.
Dumped by National Geographic
In 2012, National Geographic made the unbelievable decision to include Bachman in a show titled Ultimate Survival Alaska, only to remove her following a public outcry when over 13,000 people signed a petition complaining about her participation.
This week, Bachman has received widespread media comment after participating in the killing of a lion, in a Canned Hunt in South Africa. Sadly the Lion was not the only victim of Melissa Bachman’s pointless blood lust as evidenced by photos of her with an equally dead Zebra, and Antelope.
Images readily available suggest she shows similar disrespect of animals anywhere, and will kill anything.
It must take enormous courage and skill to enter an animal reserve, sneak up on a magnificent animal which has been bred on the property, hand raised, bottle feed and generally trained to trust humans, and then end the animal’s life with a high powered rifle.
Canned Hunting In South Africa
Sadly the Canned Hunt industry is not only big business in South Africa, but an activity that many well intend expat South Africans will tell you does not exist.
Unfortunately, these so called hunts are legal in South Africa, allowing anyone with sufficient cash, regardless of their skill or lack of it with a rifle, to kill magnificent “wild” animals.
I can only guess at how many animals not only die, but die a slow and painful death due to the lack skill of the so called Hunter.
The latest Bachman murders took place at a game park called the Maroi Conservancy, manager of which is Lourens Mostert.
Presumably Mostert shares Bachman’s lack of respect for life, and for the animals under his care.He is quoted defending his park and Bachman’s activity there on the basis that “killing a Lion” is legal in South Africa. He added “if it isn’t right to hunt these lions, why does our government legally give us permission.”
Whilst that is itself a very good question, it is also clear that individuals, whose incomes depend on questionable activities, have many ways of maintaining personal denial over what are all too often morally indefensible actions, like Canned Hunting.
Admittedly this barbaric action is legal in South Africa presently, but history has shown that Governments are frequently not the best reflection of a changing country’s Moral Compass, and hiding behind the legality, does little to the enhance Mosterts position.
Melissa Bachman is fueling change in South Africa.
Whilst it is the last reaction she would want, the mood in South Africa is changing, and another petition has been circulating with Bachman’s name on it. This time calling on the South African government to ban Melissa Bachman from ever again entering South Africa.
The petition describes her as “an absolute contradiction to the culture of conservation this country prides itself on”, and demands that “she no longer be granted access to this country and it’s natural resources” …
The petition has been closed with over 487,000 signatures . Perhaps the South African government, like National Geographic will listen.
Sign Our Petition
Hopefully a lot more petitions will be started in many more countries, with the end result that the murderous Melissa Bachman gets to stay in the good ole USA.
This website has also created such a petition for you to sign, which will be presented to our Federal Government, and which will hopefully see Bachman banned from entering our country, and slaughtering our animals for her misguided Television show, or for her personal gratification.
Please click the link above and sign the online petition before you leave this page.
